A lot of companies are trying to reduce their carbon footprint in an effort to leave the world a better place for their children. All jobs play an active role in reducing the footprint inside of breweries. Pretty awesome job right! The top recycle person is the brewmaster, which is an engineer that oversees all the brewery operations. The brewmaster and everyone in the brewing industry nationwide are trying to reduce, reuse, and recycle more and every day they prove that they too are garbagemen.
Brewery workers and especially the brewmasters are ensuring that their breweries are working efficiently. The mechanics that fix and maintain the equipment used ensure there is no wasted water being used on a piece of machinery that is not working properly. Electricians in the plants are able to shrink the brewery’s footprint by reducing the quota for the plant just a little; this reduces electrical usage and fuel consumption which reduces wasteful use of natural gas. The work doesn’t stop there either, brewmaster have scientist calculate the number of times a product can be reused before it breaks down and then becomes compromised. The reuse of everything from CO2 to ingredients helps minimize what would ultimately end up in a land fill.
The recycling inside of a brewery continues even more after there is a product made. Bottles, cardboard, glass, plastic and other scrap metals are all recycled under the brewmaster’s watch. Even the individuals that sort through the product on conveyer belts are helping to reduce waste and recycle more. Inside of a brewery, 99% of its waste material is solid waste that gets recycled as much as possible. So from the person that packs the products to the chemist that test it, almost everyone inside of a brewery is a recycling superstar; each individual does a big part at helping reduce waste, each person is a garbage man too.
